The Portage Terriers had a slow start to the season, but after a strong road trip, the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) believes they're on the right path.
Week three of the MJHL's power rankings were released, with the Portage Terriers climbing from 9th to 7th. The Dogs were 1-3 going into this week, with all three upcoming games taking place on the road.
Their trip to Dauphin saw the Terriers lock up the surging Kings 3-2 on October 4. Shortly after, they were taken down by the team that sent Portage packing from last year's playoffs, the Winkler Flyers, in a 4-1 contest on October 6.
The Terriers were looking for a big win as they travelled to Winnipeg for a fight with the Freeze on October 8. The Dogs wouldn't have been able to ask for much more than how they performed, drumming the Freeze 8-0 to wrap up their week and road trip with a 2-1 record.
The Terriers still need to win their next contest to get back to an even win-loss record, and they'll have that opportunity on Friday, October 11, as the Dogs host the Swan Valley Stampeders at Stride Place. Puck drop is set for 7:30.
