On Friday a late-night incident in Rocky View County on a local road saw a Dodge Caravan collide with a wandering cow.

The incident occurred along Dixon Stevenson Trail at 11:55 PM after the vehicle swerved to miss a couple of other loose cows on the roadway.

Airdrie RCMP responded to reports of the collision but confirmed that no injuries were reported among the individuals involved. However, the impact was significant enough that the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered more than half a dozen cows roaming along the highway. The cattle owner was contacted and the animals were safely returned to their pen, preventing further incidents.

The incident is a good reminder to livestock owners to ensure their animals are securely contained to avoid potential accidents on busy roadways.
