After a balmy long weekend, flurries may be on the way for Airdrie.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, flurries are possible on Sunday night. The forest calls for a 40 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries with a low of minus three. The following Monday also predicts a 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain with a daytime high of three degrees.

DiscoverAirdrie, previously spoke to Stephen Berg, a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, who said that October typically sees  10 to 15 centimetres of snow. However, the amounts will unlikely come as a single weather event.

What will Halloween bring?

While weather forecasts for October 31 are not yet precise, there are predictions that temperatures may be warmer than usual.

"In Canada, October temperatures will be warmer than normal across Atlantic Canada, from the Prairies through British Columbia, and from the Yukon into southern portions of the Northwest Territories, and near to below normal elsewhere," The Farmer's Almanac stated.

Long-term forecasts from Accuweather suggest a daytime high of two degrees and cloudy for October 31, with a nighttime low of minus nine degrees.
