The Town of Okotoks will be getting a new water feature next year.
During a regular council meeting in February of 2023, Okotoks Town Council approved that $500,000 from their capital budget be used to design and build a new water feature in town.
The water feature will be located in the current Arts and Learning Campus plaza and is anticipated to have flush-mounted spray features.
The feature will also utilize recirculating water to avoid any unnecessary water loss.
According to the Town's website, "The goal of the project is to provide a vibrant water feature available for children’s (and community) use and an interactive way to animate the plaza area."
Since October 7, crews have been preparing the site where the water feature is going to be erected, and the work is expected to last until November 15.
While work is being completed Ethel Tucker Centennial Park Play Space and the pathway adjacent to the Ethel Tucker Centennial Park Play Space will be closed, while parking along Riverside Drive West may be temporarily affected.
Construction will resume in the spring of 2025 and will be completed shortly afterwards.
