The NHL's Vancouver Caunucks are hosting the BCHL Showcase this week and the Okotoks Oilers will be featured in two games.
The Green and Gold head into the showcase coming off of a big 6-3 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday night (Oct. 11) at Viking Rentals Centre.
It was the first time the Oilers and Spruce Kings have ever met in a regular-season game, with Okotoks now fully integrated into the BCHL.
Friday night's tilt between the Oilers and Spruce Kings saw four members of the Green and Gold pick up their first goals in the 2024-2025 season. Otto Hanson picked up his first goal and added another for his first multi-goal game of the season. Michael Kowalski, Ryder de Nys, and Joey Meredith were the other three who picked up their first goals of the year.
The Oil will now travel to Abbotsford for their game Tuesday night (Oct. 15) to face former Okotoks Oiler Conyr Hellyer and the Penticton Vess for the second time this season. On Thursday, they will head to Chilliwack to play their second and final game of the BCHL Showcase against the Langley Rivermen.
