An addiction recovery program in Manitoba is in need of help as it heads into the final quarter of 2024.
"One of the main recovery programs we offer is an in-residence program," says Keith Stewart, a director with Adult and Teen Challenge of Central Canada. "We have five in-residence campuses and we're operating right at capacity right now. We have 19 in-community programs as well, offered around the province."
ATC has a few business ventures that help supply the ministry with revenue streams such as their vehicle donation program and Super Thrift stores. Otherwise, they rely on the generosity and donations of people in the community.
"As we're entering that final quarter of the year, we are facing a shortfall of approximately $370,000," says Stewart. "Of course, we hope to make that up before the end of the year, but we thought we should raise that flag so that our supporters are aware."

"All of the proceeds for our fundraising go towards supporting the full range of addiction-recovery services. There's a solution for, we hope, for everybody. When somebody approaches Teen Challenge we want to be sure we're providing a path to recovery that's right for them. Whether it's in-residence or in one of the community-based programs."
On top of helping people overcome their addictions, ATC also offers classes and programs to help family members of people who have life-altering addictions.
