Walter Adam Joa
May 14, 1940 – October 15, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Adam Joa announces his passing on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was 84 years of age. Walter was born May 14, 1940, southeast of Muenster, Saskatchewan and went to school in the St. Gertrude School District. He was the tenth child born to John William and Olive (née Richels) Joa. Walter married Rita Mary Bells on November 29, 1969. They farmed and raised three sons: Quentin (1971), Terry (1973), and Jason (1976). Walter is survived by: his wife Rita; three sons, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson: ~Quentin (Bonnie Lingelbach-Chapman) Joa - of Middle Lake, SK, his family: Ty Joa, James Joa, and Cheyenne Joa - of Saskatoon, SK, (Bonnie’s children:) Aimee-Lyn Chapman (Matthew), son Kayde – of Yellowgrass, SK, Dana Chapman (Travis) – of Watson, SK, and Adam (Chapman) Joa – of Middle Lake, SK ~ Terry Joa – of Humboldt, SK, his family: Brooklyn Eckl-Joa – of Saskatoon, SK, Cooper Joa, and Zac Joa – of Humboldt, SK; ~Jason (Chelsea Hustej) Joa – Humboldt, SK, his family: Blaze Joa – of Provost, AB, and Rya Joa (Preston) – of Saskatoon, SK; ~brothers: Richard Joa – of Saskatoon, SK, and John J (Debbie) Joa – of St. Walburg, SK; ~ sisters: Rosella Braun – of Humboldt, SK, and Caroline Joa – of Saskatoon, SK; ~sister-in-law: Peggy Joa – of Kingston, ON, Josie Joa – of Winnipeg, MB, and Gwen Joa – of Saskatoon, SK; ~in-laws: Alan (Marg) Bells – of Regina, SK, and Wilfred (June) Bells – of Kamloops, BC;~ and 49 nieces and nephews which he adored. Walter is predeceased by: parents John W. and Olive (née Richels) Joa; brothers: Leon (Tiena) Richels, Armand (Imelda) Joa, Alvin (infancy) Joa, Ernest (Anne) Joa, Lionel Joa, and Arthur Joa; sister Lorraine Fitszimmons; sisters-in-law: Marie (Richard’s wife) Joa, and Judy (John’s wife) Joa; parents-in-law: Roy F. Bells, Victoria A (née Proulx) Bells- Stroeder and John G. Stroeder; brothers-in-law Arnald (Jeannette Kopp) Bells, and Delmar Braun; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion – Humboldt Branch # 28, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m..
