It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good ol' days.

Let me take you back to the summer of 1984. I was working outdoors as a playground supervisor at a place called Elgin Park in Moose Jaw. We had a paddling pool and a beautiful park space to enjoy.

Of course, we had music - the radio!

A lot of the kids, including myself, were diggin' a fresh new sound from a Canadian band called Honeymoon Suite. They had just released their first album in June of '84.

The lead-off track was a song called "New Girl Now". I loved it.

I bought the cassette and treated the kids to the rest of the record. Honeymoon Suite would subsequently release three more singles from that album including "Burning in Love", "Stay in the Light" and "Wave Babies".

And here we are, 40 years later, looking forward to hearing those songs when Honeymoon Suite takes to the stage at the Moose Jaw Events Centre on Saturday, November 16th.

Spoons, A Flock of Seagulls and Men Without Hats will be there too.

You can join us. Tickets are on sale now.
