This fall, Weyburn residents can participate in a fun and charitable event at Collaborative Studios in downtown Weyburn.
Owner Krystal Glowatzky, who was born and raised in Weyburn, is hosting a pumpkin carving fundraiser on October 25th to support Communithon.
The event will feature two carving sessions at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.; participants are encouraged to register in advance. The registration fee is $10, which contributes to the $35 minimum pledge needed to participate. Once registered, Glowatzky will provide a pledge form to help participants raise additional funds from family and friends.
Weyburn Co-op generously donated pumpkins for the event. However, attendees are asked to bring their own carving and gut-scooping tools, as the event is operating on a limited budget.
"I'm happy to donate our space, my time, and my staff to be able to help with this," Glowatzky said. "It means a lot to give back to the community I grew up in."
This is Glowatzky's first time organizing a fundraiser for Communithon. The pumpkins carved at the event will later be featured on October 27th during Weyburn Tourism's "Pumpkin Lane" at the local dog park. The path will be illuminated with hundreds of pumpkins, including the 30 from Collaborative Studios, creating a magical experience for the community.
In addition to Pumpkin Lane, Collaborative Studios has a busy schedule with other events, including moccasin-making workshops on October 26th and 27th and their second annual murder mystery party on November 1st.
