The second and final game for the Okotoks Oilers in the BCHL Showcase hosted by the Abbotsford Cauncks as well as the Vancouver Canucks went down as a 4-0 loss to the Langley Rivermen.
Chilliwack played host to the Oilers and Rivermen in the first-ever meeting between the two, along with the first time the Green and Gold played a team in the BCHL's Coastal Conference.
Simon Westling, originally from Härnösand, Sweden, started in net for Okotoks. The 6'5 netminder stopped 16 shots in the contest.
The Rivermen made use of their special teams with three powerplay goals and a shorthanded goal in the game. The first two powerplay goals came in the first period with Adyn Merrick and Ryan Schelling finding the back of the net.
Mason Kesselring popped in the third powerplay goal in the second period to give Langley the 3-0 lead, Luke Pfoh got the final goal of the game 5:02 into the third period.
Okotoks will head to Coquitlam for their game tomorrow night against the Express at 7:00 p.m. The game will mark their third game in four nights and the second of back-to-backs for the Oilers. The Green and Gold will then hit the ice for their fourth game in six days when they host the Vernon Vipers on Sunday (Oct. 20) at the Viking Rentals Centre.
