One person is dead following a crash on Highway 1 early Friday morning.
The collision happened around 1:40 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 near Highway 206, east of Deacon's Corner.
RCMP say a vehicle was travelling westbound in the eastbound lane when it collided with an eastbound semi-trailer. The crash caused both vehicles to burst into flames.
The 36-year-old male driver of the semi and his 37-year-old male passenger were able to escape and were treated for minor injuries.
The driver, and lone occupant of the other vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. They have not yet been identified.
St Pierre-Jolys RCMP continue to investigate.
