In a letter sent to parents, which was then shared to local social media groups by concerned parents, high school principal Derek Keenan assured parents that any threat against the school, staff, or students is taken very seriously.

"... We are consulting with the police and our divisional support to ensure the safety of W.H. Croxford community members," the letter stated. "RCMP are monitoring the situation carefully as well."

Keenan added that the safety and security of the school are the primary concerns, as the incident is currently being investigated in collaboration with the RCMP.

"Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to provide further details, but if anyone has information concerning social media posts or who may have written the messages, please contact the school or RCMP."
