Prey is the 2022 film that serves as a prequel to the Predator franchise. The film was shot in June 2021 primarily on Stoney Nakoda First Nation land. Additional locations include Moose Mountain and the Elbow River. The film is about a Comanche woman who protects her tribe against a Predator in the Northern Great Plains in 1719.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the sequel to 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters II. The female-driven reboot stars Carrie Coon and McKenna Grace as Egon Spengler’s daughter and granddaughter. Paul Rudd also stars in the film alongside Finn Wolfhard who you might remember from Stranger Things.

The Revenant is an action, adventure, and biographical movie based in part on the novel by Michael Punke. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, it was released on December 25, 2015, and won three Academy Awards, including "Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role" for DiCaprio.

HBO’s biggest series The Last of Us (season 1) was shot entirely in Alberta and starred Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the first season of the show was filmed between July 2021 and June 2022. The series is the largest film production in Alberta’s history.
