The undefeated streak for the HTA Knights came to an end last night after they suffered their first loss in the game against the 5A second-place team, the Raymond Comets.
The Comets took the meeting with a 47-25 score.
HTA came out strong to start the game after stopping the Comet's first drive and then adding a touchdown on the Knight's first drive of the game. Seth Poelzer, the reigning MVP at the Canada Cup, got HTA on the board first with a long run, beating the Raymond defenders and getting in alone for the touchdown.
The Comets would then go on a tear, scoring 34 points in the first half and giving up a safety for a 34-9 score in favour of the Comets.
HTA answered back in the second half with 16 points and only allowing 13 points.
This was a true test on how HTA could match up against a top team from the 5A division and can take some learning lessons away as Provincials near closer.
The Knights' final regular season game will be in Strathmore on Friday (Oct. 25) when they face the Spartans with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
