It was just what the team doctor ordered. A perfect 2-0 weekend. After defeating Steinbach, one of the top teams in the league so far this season, on Saturday night, the Terriers responded with a road win in Virden on Sunday.
Tristan Gravenor led the way scoring the game's first two goals, his 5th and 6th of the season, as the Dogs took down the Oil Caps 5-2. Virden pulled made it close at 3-2 in the third period before the Terriers leading scorer Cam Bullinger put one in to go along with the assist he had earlier in the game. Bullinger is tied for third in league scoring with 6 goals and 12 assists.
Virden outshot Portage 26-24 and Mtchell Kathler got the win in goal, putting him at 6-3 on the season with a 2.20 G.A.A.
Ther Terriers are now alone in 4th spot in the MJHL's East division with 14 points, the same as the Winkler Flyers. The Flyers however have played two fewer games. The Terriers have two games this week. They will be in Virden for a rematch this Friday night and then back home at Stride Place for a date with the Winnipeg Freeze on Saturday.
