The Carstar Okotoks Bisons find themselves tied for first spot in the HJHL's Southern Division after coming away with two wins over the weekend.

On Friday, the Herd was in Cochrane to face the Generals and took the game convincingly with a 6-1 win on the road.

Sam Callahan opened the scoring in the first period with Zephyr Laplante getting the assist. Henry Pahl tied the game up at one apiece 30 seconds later for the Generals' only goal of the game.

MacCallum Bakken took the lead back for the Herd in the second period with Callahan adding his second point of the night on the helper. Callahan picked up his third point during the tilt when he assisted on Ty Russell's goal three minutes later.

The Bisons continued to pour it on in the third period with goals coming from Adam Kirkpatrick and Joel Burrows to end the period up 5-1. Laplante, Easton Dean, Ethan Burgeson, and Jakob Semeniuk got the assists on the goal.

The third period saw one last goal from the Bisons coming from Semeniuk with Brandon Jarman and Russell picking up the helpers. Connor White made his first start with the Bisons in net and turned away 30 shots in the win.

White made his second straight start for the Herd in Saturday's game against the Cubs in Medicine Hat and stopped 17 shots in the process. In the two games played he posted a 1.00 GAA and a .959 save percentage.

Callahan continued to be a stud for the Herd scoring the opening goal once again for his ninth goal on the season. Bakken and Jake Snashall picked up a point on the goal. Medicine Hat tied things up at 1-1 in the first with their lone goal coming from Caleb Garrecht.

The second period was all Bisons as Caden Scott picked up his fourth goal on the season with help from Kegan Law and Dean. Callahan then added his 10th goal of the season on an unassisted marker.

Laplante would get the final goal of the game in the third period with assistant captains Kirkpatrick and Dean getting in on the assists.

The Bisons will be back at Murray Arena on Friday night to host the Coaldale Copperheads and then head to Sylvan Lake Saturday to face the Wranglers.
