A local woman with strong ties to the community is among the candidates running for Reeve for the Rural Municipality of Swift Current this year.
Esther Wall, Reeve candidate for the Rural Municipality of Swift Current, was born and raised in the area and helped to develop a quarter-of-a-century-old family business.
"I'm passionate about the Rural Municipality and that we keep the rural alive, as well as to provide services and infrastructure to the Rural Municipality," she shared.
Along with experience in business and rural life, Wall has been on the Swift Current District Health Board, was the administrator of two different boards, and has sat as a board member on several other boards.
"Making sure that the entire Rural Municipality is getting equitable service and ensuring there's open and transparent governance with community engagement are key in autonomy, as well as working with our other municipalities," she said.
The experienced board member hopes to focus on the long-term integrity of vital infrastructure solutions such as roads and bridges by reviewing all services, following up on community needs, and creating an effective budget.
