Stop arm cameras installed on Cochrane school buses

School buses around Cochrane are now sporting a new piece of tech.

Rocky View Schools (RVS) announced stop arm cameras have been installed on some buses operating in the Cochrane area.

“These cameras are capable of recording the license plate number of the vehicles that illegally run the stop arm when it is out,” reads a newsletter sent out by RVS.

“Video clips of vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses may be provided to law enforcement for follow-up.”

New stop arm cameras have also been installed on school buses travelling within Chestermere and rural Rocky View County.
