Following Monday's (Oct. 21) snowfall, several Southern Alberta municipalities have lifted their fire restrictions.

That includes Foothills County, the M.D. of Willow Creek, and the Calgary Forest Area.

Foothills County's Fire Restriction was put in place back on Sept. 12.

The Calgary Forest Area was under a Fire Advisory since Oct.8. and the M.D. of Willow Creek's Fire Restriction was put in place on Aug. 16.

The Town of Stavely has also removed their Fire Ban, which was in effect since July.

Campfires can now be enjoyed in all of those areas, but normal burning rules still apply.

Because fire bans and restrictions can change quickly, it's best to keep an eye on the Alberta Fire Bans website before starting a fire.
