Each Sunday, Grant Memorial Church is filled with congregants gathering for a time of worship and this week, there is an extra opportunity in the Throwback Worship Night.

On October 26 at 7 p.m., praise and worship music from the 1990s will be on full display.

Cassandra Gingerich the music minister at Grant Memorial says, "In fact, I was quite surprised. As we've been chatting with different people, they are just as excited in their 20s as they are in their 50s. It seems everyone knows these songs, so it should be a good night."

Some of the 13 songs that will be sung include, 'Shout to the Lord,' 'Better is One Day,' 'Breathe,' and 'I Could Sing of Your Love Forever.'

Gingerich says she is excited for not only the Grant community, but the greater community to come together for a night of 90s worship. "A worship team member wanted to sing songs from the past in our Sunday morning setlist and it made me realize that there was a desire in our community to remember those songs. A throwback worship night was birthed out of that."

"Music is a universal language. There's nothing like music to bring us back to specific moments. When you tie that together with faith, right away, it allows us to remember times in our lives that highlight how and where the Lord is working in the middle of our stories," Gingerich says.

While the event is taking place at Grant Memorial Church, Gingerich says it's free and open to anyone who wants to attend. "We want people beyond our Grant community. Let's fill this church. Let's praise, worship and remember together."

The Throwback Worship right is at Grant Memorial Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue on Saturday, October 26 at 7 p.m.
