Irricana and Beiseker are looking for residents who are willing to be snow angels and help other community members out when snow needs to be moved.

Victoria Mikal, who works for both the Village of Beiseker and the Town of Irricana, is running both Snow Angel Programs for the communities. She shared the what program is all about.

"Snow Angels are people that are willing to help out community members that might be unable to, or have a hard time removing their snow from their sidewalks, front deck, driveways, things like that."

Mikal explained it is a great way to get out and meet your community.

"It connects members of the community, it's a great volunteer opportunity for people, to help others like seniors and people with disabilities."

People who need a snow angel can also sign up above. Mikal talked about how she connects the volunteers with those in need.

"I'll send them the info of a person who is a volunteer, and vice versa, I'll send volunteers names of people who need help."

She hopes to see more growth and more people volunteering compared to last year. She shared that she saw an increase in volunteers in their Yard Angels Program, which is the same type of program, but it's during the summer and yard work.

"It's coming along, people are using the program, which is great to see."

While the snow might not have stuck around this time, the Airdrie area is forecasted to possibly see some snow Monday night, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Family and Community Support Services sponsor the program through the two communities.
