A Canadian Christian jazz artist is releasing her latest single, "Walking by Faith," a battle cry for anyone facing the storms of life.
Fiyin Obayan is from Saskatoon, SK. Her first single "Love Gives Me Wings to Fly" was released in February this year and she has received some great feedback on it.
"Hearing from people in the community, people from church, people hearing it regularly have been excited," says Obayan. "It's been really good feedback all around."
"Walking by Faith" is Obayan's second single being released on October 26, 2024.
"This song was inspired by the idea, that when you're in the middle of the storm and you need to call out that encouragement over yourself. Remembering God's word, His encouragement and promises over you, and calling Him into the situation. It's kind of a battle cry."
This song is the result of a summer program Obayan got accepted into through SOCAN, Equity X, and Women in Music Production.
"Although it was birthed through this struggle, I thank God for the process, the people I met and everything I learned along the way. At the end of the day the words still encourage me today and I can look back with gratitude no matter how difficult it was at the time."
Obayan is hoping to release an entire record at some point in the next year.
