The Okotoks RCMP were called to a collision involving pedestrians last night.
The collision occurred on 15th Street near the Okotoks Badminton Center, causing a portion of the road to be closed for some time.
After investigating the collision, it was determined that a passenger vehicle was heading north on 15th Street when they hit two pedestrians who were believed to be walking on the road.
Due to the collision, a 52-year-old female from Eden Valley was declared deceased at the scene, while a 25-year-old female from Okotoks was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
While the RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene, the incident is still under investigation.
The RCMP extend their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and the injured pedestrian.
