Curbside yard waste collection for the year will soon be coming to an end in Winnipeg.
Area A's yard waste collection will end the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2024. While Area B will end Nov. 4 to 8.
To determine if resident's area is A or B, the City of Winnipeg has it on the website. It can also be determined by calling 311.
Any yard waste can be put into a reusable container without a lid such as a plastic bin, old blue box, old metal or plastic garbage container. Containers should not be broken. Waste can also be put into cardboard boxes or paper yard waste bags.
Winnipeggers are reminded to put yard waste containers beside garbage and recycling carts about an arms length away. Yard waste materials should never be raked onto the road as that can plug the street drain and cause ponding problems or basement flooding.
Residents can also take their yard waste to the 4R Winnipeg Depots located at 1825 Brady Road, 1120 Pacific Avenue, and 429 Panet Road. For more information on the 4R Winnipeg Depots, including hours of operation, please visit: winnipeg.ca/4Rdepot.
