Three Rocky View School Division (RVS) schools are over 100 per cent capacity according to Sept. 30 enrolment numbers.
With an enrolment of 396 students, the Cochrane Christian Academy in East Cochrane is at 129 per cent capacity. Bow Valley High is at 113 per cent with 983 students, and Fireside School is at 102 per cent with 915 students.
Cochrane High is at 98 per cent of capacity, Glenbow School, 97 per cent, and Manachaban. 95 per cent.
Collectively, their nine schools in Cochrane are at 93 per cent capacity.
There's been an increase of 73 students in the Cochrane area when both the Westbrook and Bearspaw schools are taken into account.
In the Springbank area, only the middle school is overcapacity, sitting at 101 per cent with 552 students. Elbow Valley has 549 students, Springbank High, 692, and Bragg Creek's Banded Peak, 266. They have seen combined enrolment drop of 37 students.
There are 362 students enrolled in RVS's Community Learning Centres, up by 21, and 424 students are attending RVS online school, up by two.

In September, school board trustees assigned three more modulars to Fireside School and two to the Cochrane Christian Academy. They are expected to be ready for use at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year. A major expansion of Bow Valley High is also underway. It's slated for completion in the fall of 2026.
Overall, RVS enrolment as of Sept. 30 increased by 641 to 29,243 students, a 2,24 per cent increase, 107 students less than anticipated. A projected enrolment of 29,350 was submitted to Alberta Education by the school division in February 2024.
