Man mistakenly released from custody found and arrested in Gypsumville

A man who was mistakenly released from custody has been located and arrested by police.

Mark Phillip Traverse, 27, was arrested without incident on Oct. 23 at approximately 5:30 p.m. by members of the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU).

He was found in the Municipality of Gypsumville, Man., after being mistakenly released from custody on Oct. 22.

Traverse had been the subject of a public search, though police had reassured the public that he was not considered dangerous.

His arrest concludes the search initiated by Winnipeg Police after the error was reported.

No further details have been released about his return to custody.
