One person in critical condition following early morning fire

One individual is in critical condition following a fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning. 

On October 23, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., fire crews were called to a fire in a two-storey duplex on Barrington Avenue. 

Crews arrived to smoke coming from the structure and fought the blaze from the inside. It was declared under control at 12:39 a.m.

Occupants of the building were able to self-evacuate prior to WFPS arriving. One individual was assessed by on-scene paramedics and transported to hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
