The Diamond Valley Fire Rescue is warning people about a scam.
They took to Facebook to warn residents that people are going around town pretending to be members of the fire department.
They are using high pressure sales tactics to sell uncertified fire prevention materials.
These scammers may try to also reach out to people through Facebook.
In their social media post, the Diamond Valley Fire Rescue reminds people that they do not sell fire prevention material.
On top of that, all members of their fire department, as well as town employees, are issued photo id cards and always wear a uniform while conducting business for the fire department.
Any suspicious interaction should be reported to the RCMP.
Any concerns or questions can be directed to the fire department.
