Donations for the semi-annual Friends of the Library book sale are now being accepted.
Taking place November 2 and 3 at the Cochrane Ranchehouse, the sale features thousands of books and all the money raised goes right back to the Cochrane Public Library to support their community programming.
Carmen Erison, the library’s Program and Engagement Manager, says the sale has been so successful over the past few years thanks to the community's support.
“The amount of books that we have at these sales is unreal, and that's because of the support of the community.”
“With the book sale, you can go stock up your shelves for just a fraction of the cost.”
Donations are currently being accepted at the Cochrane Public Library.
Proceeds from the last book sale helped to purchase two new self-checkout stands for the library.

“We don't accept items like encyclopedia sets, old medical books, textbooks, those types of materials. Most of the information in those books is out of date and as a library, we want to make sure that the good information is going out in the world.”
Along with books in good condition, the library is also accepting DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, and video games.
