Residents of one of Cochrane's oldest neighbourhoods is laying the groundwork for a community association.

Just over 40 years old, Glenbow is close to the hub of Cochrane and includes many of Cochrane's valued features.

On Monday, Oct. 28 an information meeting is being held in the Creekside Room of the Cochrane Alliance Church starting at 7 p.m.

"We'll be a discussion how people can get more involved should they choose or just to stay connected," says Glenbow resident Mark Atkinson. "We're looking for executive board member positions to be voted on at the AGM, planned for the early part of 2025."

Brian Winter has been a resident of the community since it was being developed. He and his wife Ginny had their pick of lots when they moved there from East Cochrane.

Winter began a push for its creation in late August.

"I think it's time that we had a voice," says Winter. "We have over 700 individual units that are either single family dwellings, duplexes, townhouses or condominiums, and each of these would help shape an association," he says.

Since then, a community barbecue has been held and residents have reached out to express interest in joining the effort.
