The following is the RCMP report to October 16th, 2024. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.
- 70 traffic violations
- 19 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 30 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 24 crimes against property
- 7 other criminal code
- 9 crimes against person
- 4 traffic accidents
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks. RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks. You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check.
Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.
Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.
Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.
YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS
Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.
September 23, 2024
Police responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle on highway 3 in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.
Police received a report of mischief in Ninette. Police followed up with the complainant and provided them with options for moving forward.
Police received a report of a stolen vehicle in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police were able to locate the vehicle abandoned and return it to its owner. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of a break and enter to a business in Boissevain. The break and enter occurred in 2023 and was reported for information purposes only as the complainant now noticed items missing.
Police responded to a 911 call for a traffic accident on highway 18 in Ninette. A female was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Goodlands.
Police received a report of a theft of bike in Boissevain. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
September 24, 2024
Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. The vehicle did not have a registered owner and had no registration so the vehicle was towed.
September 25, 2024
Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a call for an erratic driver in Killarney. Members patrolled the area however no vehicle matching the description provided was located.
Police received a report of trespassing in Waskada. Police followed up with the complainant and provided them with additional information for moving forward.
September 26, 2024
Police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver in Deloraine. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.
Police responded to a call for uttering threats in Killarney. Police were able to assist the complainant, however there was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges.
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a report under the family law act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police followed up with the complainant and provided information and options for moving forward and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report under the trespass act in Waskada. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of theft in the RM of Prairie Lakes. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of assault in Boissevain. Police were able to follow up with all parties involved and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of fraud in Hartney. The complainant was contacted via email being asked to purchase and send gift cards for a mutual friend with cancer. No money was lost, as the complainant realized it was a scam. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a wellbeing check in Boissevain. All parties were located safe.
September 27, 2024
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. The matter was concluded.
Police responded to a call for uttering threats in Baldur. Police followed up with both parties involved and it was determined that no crime occurred. The matter was concluded.
Police received a call under the 911 act in the RM or Argyle. Police followed up with the caller and provided assistance and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of fraud in Deloraine. The complainant stated someone had tried to access his bank account however was unsuccessful and it was flagged by the bank. No money was lost and the caller was reporting for information purposes only.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Boissevain. Police were able to locate and speak with the person in question. The matter was concluded.

Police responded to a 911 call for suspicious person at Pleasant Valley. Police patrolled the area however the person was gone on arrival.
Police received a report under the municipal bylaws act in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant who had some questions and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of mischief in the RM of Argyle. Police followed up with the complainant and provided additional options for moving forward. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of mischief in the RM of Grasslands. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.
October 1, 2024
Police received a report of fraud in Baldur. The complainant had received a facebook message as well as an email stating they had won some grant money. No money was lost and they were reporting for information purposes only.
Police received a call for an alarm in the RM of Argyle. Police attended the location and spoke with the property rep and determined everything was okay and police were not required.
Police responded to a call under the child welfare act in Boissevain. Police spoke with all parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to an assault in Killarney. Police assisted with the situation as required and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of a fraudulent sale in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant and directed them to contact civil court as the situation was not a police matter.
October 3, 2024
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received another report of mischief in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police attended and spoke with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.
October 4, 2024
Police received a report of uttering threats in Waskada. Police reviewed the information provided and it was determined no threats were made. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant and provided them with additional information to assist with the matter moving forward. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
While on patrol police observed a vehicle swerving on the road in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police conducted a traffic stop where a roadside screening device was given to the driver which resulted in a failed reading. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 90 days and the vehicle was towed.

Police responded to a call for an unwanted, intoxicated person at a residence in Boissevain. A male was arrested and lodged until sober.
October 7, 2024
Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The complainant received an email stating they had a package at the border and more information was needed before it would be released. No information was provided. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.
Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Hartney.
Police responded to a 911 call for a motor vehicle collision in the RM of Prairie Lakes. There were no injuries, the vehicle was towed and police departed.
October 8, 2024
Police received a report of uttering threats in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.
Police received a report of a stolen truck in the RM of Argyle. The matter is under investigation.
October 9, 2024
Police received a report of mischief in Waskada. Police followed up and provided information for options moving forward.
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Boissevain. All parties were located safe.
Police responded to a 911 call for an assault with weapon in Boissevain. A male was arrested and lodged in cells until sober. He was released on a release order to appear in court at a later date.
October 10, 2024
Police responded to an abandoned 911 call in Boissevain. Police spoke with all parties at the associated address and determined the emergency button was accidently pressed. Police were not required and departed.
Police received a report of an assault in the RM of Prairie Lakes. A male was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton for a person hitch-hiking along the side of the highway. Police patrolled the area attempting to locate the person involved but they were gone on arrival.
Police responded to another request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were safe.
Police received a report of a suspicious person in Boissevain. Police completed patrols, located the person and spoke with them. There was nothing suspicious and the matter was concluded.
October 13, 2024
Police responded to a call for failure to comply with court order. The matter was unfounded.
Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Hartney. All parties were safe.
Police received a report of a suspicious person in Boissevain. Police were already aware of the situation and the matter was concluded.
Police received a report of possession of property obtained by crime. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police responded to a 911 call for a person reported missing in Hartney. Police were able to locate the person involved and they were safe.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Baldur. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.
Police received a report of a theft of truck in Boissevain. After further investigation, it was determined the vehicle was not stolen and the matter was unfounded.
October 15, 2024
Police responded to a 911 call for a structure fire in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The fire appeared to be accidental and there were no injuries.
Police received a report for mischief in Rock Lake. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
Police received a report of driving while disqualified in Boissevain. Police patrolled the area however the person and vehicle were not located.

Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.
