Update - the day has come to a close and you'll find a gallery of photos at the end of this story!
The Weyburn Legion was busy today from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., all in support eight Community Agencies fundraising for the 43rd annual Weyburn Communithon. The last total, updated this evening just before 11 p.m. was $90,167.
Communithon Committee Chair Lynda Rideout said the final total is still being tallied.
Raven Daer, Weyburn Communithon Communications Chair and Secretary said, "We just want to put out a great big thank you to everyone who has applied to either volunteer or entertain at this year's Communithon. We truly would not be able to make this event as successful as it is without you. So again, thank you so much."
For those who didn't catch the performances, you can still watch the video HERE.
The following is the original story:
"For grandmas and grandpas who have young children in the school groups who maybe aren't able to make it down but still want to see their wonderful performances and show their support, that's a wonderful way for you to be able to do that. The accessibility of this fundraiser truly is what is one of the wonderful components, I think."
This year's fundraising goal is $98,000 and while some donations come in after the official day, Daer said all funds raised are allocated throughout the eight community agencies.
