A 29 year old man from Ontario was transported via STARS Air Ambulance to hospital with serious injuries after a head on collision Thursday morning about a mile east of Elm Creek.
Pembina Valley RCMP responded to the call shortly after 8 a.m., and the initial investigation has determined the westbound car driven by the 29-year-old veered over the center line, colliding head on with an eastbound pick-up driven by an 83-year-old male from St. Claude. The pick-up driver was also taken to hospital with injuries.
Highway 2 was closed for about two hours, in both directions, during the investigation which found seatbelts were in use by all involved.
Pembina Valley RCMP continue to investigate, and is asking any witnesses that have video footage of the crash, or further details on what happened, to contact Carman RCMP at 204-745-6760.
