Of the eight community agencies being supported by the 43rd annual Weyburn Communithon, Inclusion Weyburn just formed in 2018 and joined the effort the same year.
President Jackie Wilson said it was a no-brainer, since she has been involved since the very beginning.
"It's a great thing to be part of, and we certainly reap benefits from it. It's a huge help for us in our programs."
"I've had years when I thought, 'Gee, you know, maybe we've outlived this, maybe it's time to do something different?', but no, every year it just comes through, and I think it's become part of our Weyburn fabric now that people just look forward to Communithon, and it's just a really nice fall activity, it really is."
Wilson said she hears parents and grandparents say they remember performing at Communithon, "so for them, this is just an ongoing thing, that of course there's going to be a Communithon."
She said the event reflects our community, "because Weyburn is a very supportive community."
"We've felt that with Inclusion, all the wonderful support from organizations and businesses and individuals in Weyburn, whether it's support through finances or support through caring and wanting to learn more about us and what we're about, that is all just reflective of a good strong community, and I think Communithon is a celebration of that. We recognize all of that and it's something to be very proud of as Weyburnites, that we can pull together, sort of the nice size that we have of community to be able to do all of those things."
Wilson shared on the 'vibe' of the event, which is like no other.
"Communithon has always been electrically-charged for everyone in the community. The school groups, it's such a service to the community, and it's so fun for them, and of course, all the parents and grandparents enjoy that and it's good to see all of the local businesses working together and it's really an enriching day for the whole community. It's amazing really to me that it has stayed so energetic for all of these years."
"A big thank you to Communithon and all of its volunteers and a big thank you to the City of Weyburn and area for contributing to make the Communithon so successful. Inclusion Weyburn truly appreciates everything that we get from the Communithon."

This year's fundraising goal is $98,000 and while some donations come in after the official day, Daer said all funds raised are allocated throughout the eight community agencies.
