A Winnipeg mission says it's seeking to honour its many volunteers in a unique way.
Union Gospel Mission is a Biblically-based, Gospel-oriented Mission in Downtown Winnipeg.
It has seven ministries that run daily to serve the community. From men's addiction recovery, women's addiction recovery, children and camp, adult education at Faith Learning Centre, Christian school, street ministry, and family ministries.
Each ministry has multiple volunteers who help run it. "It's huge. We couldn't function without the volunteers," Martin Chidwick, development manager at Union Gospel Mission says. "We have seven ministries and lots of need. We love the volunteers who come through these doors."
Chidwick says that the volunteers show Jesus to everyone around them. "They show Jesus through their actions, by their words, by their prayers and by their love."
To say thank you to the numerous volunteers, Chidwick says there is something special planned.
"We have a video that we are launching on Oct. 26. We trust it serves the Lord and also shows wonderful appreciation for our volunteers. It's called 'Now I Can See.'"
Chidwick says the video will be released the evening of Saturday, Oct. 26. To see the video, go to gospelmission.ca.
