Two games were on tap for the Carstar Okotoks Bisons this weekend.

The Herd trampled the Coaldale Copperheads on Friday night (Oct. 25) at Murray Arena in a 6-2 win. Sam Callahan had a first-period hat trick and finished the night with four points. McCallum Bakken picked up two assists on Callahan's hat trick, with Kaelan Bodnarchuk, Hunter Cobb, and team captain Jake Snashall adding a helper each. Callahan sits tied for first place for most goals in the league, as he has 13 goals in 11 games.

Zephyr Laplante also added a goal in the first period, with Jady Shigehiro and assistant captain Caden Scott getting the assists. Nathan Verloop broke open the scoring in the first with the Copperhead's lone goal of the period.

The Herd added two powerplay goals in the second, with Jakub Semeniuk getting the first and Shigehiro getting the second goal of the period. Nikits Syreov and Bakken picked up the helpers on the Semeniuk goal, and Callahan got his fourth point on the night on Shigehiro's goal.

Copperheads added their second and final goal in the third period, thanks to Ryan Millo. Dylan Walker got the win for the Bisons, making 16 saves in the contest. The Herd outshot the Copperheads 53-18.

Saturday was a night to forget for the Bisons as they were shut out in Sylvan Lake 6-0. The Herd outshot the Wranglers but couldn't solve Kaden Toussaint, the Wrangler's netminder. This was the first meeting between the two teams since the HJHL final last year, which saw the Bisons complete the three-peat. Toussaint played in the HJHL finals last season against the Bisons.

Sylvan Lake couldn't solve the Bisons' PK unit, as they were able to kill off nine penalties. The Wranglers, however, would get goals from six different players in their lineup.
