With Sunday's temperature in Airdrie reaching 18 degrees, nearly four times warmer than the average for this time of year, residents may want to get ready for a spine-chilling change, and it won't be because of the ghosts and goblins anticipated to roam the streets later this week.
This week's nightly lows are predicted to reach double-digit temperatures below zero, with Wednesday night possibly being the coldest at -12. There is also the possibility of flurries and rain tonight and a chance of flurries on Friday.
Although it was previously predicted that Halloween could see flurries, the local weather forecast has changed. It appears it will be chilly in the evening but with no precipitation. On Halloween day, the sun will be one degree high, while the evening will be cold at minus seven.
What can Airdrie residents expect later in November?
The Farmer's Almanac ishintshat by the end of next week, the prairie region could see a heavy, early-season snowfall and that much of the month and the latter part of autumn will be cold.
