You don’t have to waste valuable space in your green bin for your Jack-o'-lanterns when you can donate them instead.

The Cochrane Ecological Institute (CEI) cares for animals that enjoy chewing, pecking, and munching on pumpkins and is now accepting donations.

"It's that time of year! The CEI is happy to take your carved pumpkins to give to our wildlife patients to eat this spooky season!" CEI posted on their Facebook page.

CEI is asking that all pumpkin donations be unbleached, wax and paint-free.

"Please make sure all donated pumpkins have had their candles removed, are wax and paint free, and don't have marker or chemicals on them."

"Help repurpose your pumpkins this ghoulish season while also deterring wildlife from human conflict!"

The pumpkins can be dropped off daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Happy Tails Pet Retreat which is on the same property as the wildlife reserve. Which is at 51061 Township Road 280.
