The Foothills Bantam Eagles put up a valiant effort against the Calgary Colts in their first-ever Division 1 semi-final appearance, falling just short in a 24-14 football game on Saturday (Oct. 26).
The Eagles were playing on the Shouldice Artificial Turf Hellard for their semi-final appearance. The score was close at the end of the first quarter with the Colts leading 8-6 after the Eagles missed a two-point conversion.
At the end of the half, the Eagles were down by 10 points with the Colts leading 16-6.
Over 200 fans were in attendance with people coming from as far as Sherwood Park to enjoy the Eagles' first-ever Division 1 playoff appearance.
The Eagles can hold their heads high after a great season and will look to build off their success from this year moving into next season.
The Colts will now play the Calgary Raiders in the finals on Saturday afternoon.
