This week's Airdrie Techmation Thunder Spotlight belongs to Jaivir Kaler.

The Thunder won both of their games on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, they knocked off the Three Hills Thrashers 5-1, and after facing plenty of adversity on Saturday, they beat the Rocky Rams 4-2. On the season, Airdrie now has a record of six wins and five losses.

Head Coach and General Manager Mark Kulynych wrote that Kaler played his best game Friday.

"Just back from Suspension Kaler played his best game of the season Friday night, and didn’t disappoint on Saturday either after not getting a warm-up in."

Kulynych also shared he is developing hast as a player.

"He is the youngest in the team and has been adapting to the league very well, he’s a great skater for us and he’s getting a lot smarter in the back end as well. He’s a quiet kid but the boys have been taking to him pretty well. It’s been awesome working with him and helping his game."

Saturday night, the team bus did not show up, and all the players had to drive. Then, a player's car broke down, with three others in it, about 15 minutes out of town."

"My daughter had to pick them up and take them back to the rink to grab a different car and make the drive up to Rocky and they arrived right at game time. Another car had 3 players in it and they witnessed a terrible accident and also hardly made warm-up. So it was a character game for us and I couldn’t be more proud of the team for this weekend."

Kaler talked about how he thinks he has performed so far this season.

"It's been an uphill battle so far, but I just hope to continually get better every game and help the team the best I can."

A rookie on the Thunder, he likes how the team is coming together early on in the season and hopes they can make a run.

"It's a good group of guys that will support you and help you get better. It's a great environment as well."

The Thunder have one game this week, with it taking place tomorrow night, 8 p.m. at the Ron Ebbesen Arena as the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings come to Airdrie.
