For the eighth year, Cochranite Gary Robertson is hoping to once again thrill and spook residents of all ages, all while having fun and helping others.
Robertson spends countless hours decorating his home into a house of scares every year.
"This year's theme is once again The Asylum. So people can expect a pretty scary and demented experience that they would experience in an insane asylum and they can pick their different level of frights."
The backyard is the least scariest and features a graveyard, in the garage there is a laboratory set up with doctors doing "demented experiments" and Robertson says the the bravest people can choose to walk the halls of The Asylum and see the residents who live there.
He loves Halloween, but says he didn't create Frights for Food for the fun and the scares.
With Remembrance Day just around the corner, Robertson is collecting donations for the Veterans Association Food Bank.
"People are welcome to come even if they aren't able to donate or if they don't have anything to donate but if they can bring something it's certainly appreciated. Over the eight years we've done this, we've collected just around 3500 pounds worth of food and maybe we can cross 4000 pounds this year."
