If you've been practicing your award-winning acceptance speech in the mirror, here’s some exciting news: your being on the big screen dreams could be one step closer. A casting director in the local area is currently hiring plenty of extras.

A local casting director in Calgary is seeking new faces for projects filming this Autumn and Winter, according to Keep Alberta Rolling, which was announced on social media.

According to the post, the extras are wanted for major films and television shows.

According to the post, they are hiring for all ages, it does not matter where you are in your life, if you want your shot on the big screen, you can take it.

To apply to be an extra, interested parties must send an updated selfie to casting4extras@yahoo.com with their size, location, age, and height. Additionally, you must be able to work in Canada lawfully, explained the post.

Brock Skretting, Head of Advocacy with Keep Alberta Rolling, hopes Airdronians will apply to be extras.

"If you've ever thought about seeing what sets are like and checking out the film industry, this is a good opportunity."

The applicants that are chosen will be paid, how much, is currently a mystery.

Airdrie's surrounding area is home to multiple scenes from popular movies and series like The Last of UsUnder the Banner of Heaven and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Last week, The Town of Didsbury, just north of Airdrie, announced that it will again play host to film crews over the next several weeks.
