Derek Brian Hauser
December 5, 1986 – October 25, 2024

It is with profound sadness that the family of Derek Brian Hauser announces his death on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 37. Derek was born on December 5, 1986, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest child of Brian and Betty (née Schmeiser) Hauser. He attended elementary school in Pilger, SK, and the Three Lakes School in Middle Lake, SK, where he graduated in 2004. From a young age, Derek was always interested in farming, and also loved playing hockey and going snowmobiling. After graduation, Derek moved the Lloydminster, SK, worked at Elite Mechanical for a year, and then moved on to the Brinkerhoff Riggs for three years. In 2008, he went into full-time farming alongside his dad. He met his wife Tiffany Schemenauer of St. Brieux, SK, in July of 2024, and they were married on November 17, 2012. On November 8, 2014, their son Brody was born, who was dad’s sidekick and famer-in-training. Derek loved watching Brody play hockey and spent winters going to hockey and snowmobiling. On February 15, 2017, the family was completed when Addison, their daughter, was welcomed into the world. Addison was Derek’s “high maintenance” princess, and he loved teasing her, but always gave her cuddles and “huggies” whenever possible. Derek’s devotion and work ethic, along with his knowledge and desire allowed him to develop a successful farming operation at a young age. He was always up-to-date with the latest technology in farming and his farming friends sought him out for advice often. Derek was also involved in his community and was a member of the Pilger Rec Board, Fulda Snow Sliders and the Three Lakes Fire Department. Although farming and community kept Derek busy, he always had time for his family. They went camping and snowmobiling often, as well as a trip to Disney World and a few Edmonton Oilers games. Derek will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife Tiffany; children Brody and Addison; parents Brian and Betty; sister Chantelle (Justin) Gamble and their children, Dagen, Kierstyn, and Makenna; grandma Gertie Hauser; parents-in-law Scott and Denise Schemenauer; sister-in-law Rochelle Schemenauer and her sons Joshua, and Jesse; sister-in-law Kimberly (Tanner) Teiber and their children Ronan and Radix; grandmas-in-law: Mabel Savage, and Audrey Schemenauer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Derek is predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Ray and Ester Schmeiser; paternal grandpa Edward Hauser; grandpas-in-law: Bill Savage, and Don Schemenauer; uncle Don Schmeiser; and brother-in-law Ryan Schemenauer. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy and concelebrated by Fr. Paul Oshin and Fr.
