The Portage Terriers have been one of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's (MJHL) top dogs over the past few weeks.

The Terriers are enjoying a five-game win streak, and hope to continue trending in the right direction. The run has seen them take the following games:

Vs Niverville Nighthawks (October 16, final score 3-1)
Vs Steinbach Pistons (October 19, final score 4-2)
@ Virden Oil Capitals (October 20, final score 5-2)
@ Virden Oil Capitals (October 25, final score 5-3)
Vs Winnipeg Freeze (October 26, final score 2-1 OT)

The Terriers currently sit in 4th place in the MGEU East Division but sit only three points back of the second-place Steinbach Pistons.

Defenceman for the Terriers, Grant Dardis, says the squad always felt like they were a competitive team, and are glad that they're able to showcase that early on in the season.

"I think for us it was just finding our identity, finding our stride and just believing in everyone else in the room."

Forward Cameron Bullinger adds that staying focused on the game plan and continuing to buy into the system is key to stacking more wins onto this streak.

"We have to stick to whatever works, don't get selfish, play as a team. We have the skill to do it so we need to take care of business."

The Terriers will look to continue their win streak as they host the Winnipeg Blues on October 30. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
