I was privileged and pleased to attend a Major League Baseball game at Yankee Stadium a number of years ago with some good friends.

We planned in advance with a rock concert the main attraction at Madison Square Garden but we also bought tickets to see the Yankees host the Baltimore Orioles.

We had great seats but they were $300 apiece. I wasn't really excited about that but, one of my buddies said, "Think about it, how many times will you get the chance to see a ball game at Yankee Stadium?"

So, I shrugged it off, bucked-up and settled into my seat about 15 rows up from the Orioles' dugout on the 3rd base side. It was an awesome experience which included my first New York subway ride from Manhattan to The Bronx. We jumped on the train at Grand Central Station and got off right outside the ball park.

I was thinking about that night last night as I watched game 4 of the World Series featuring the Yankees and the Dodgers at a jam-packed Yankee Stadium and reading about what fans are paying to see those games.

They're paying between $1600 and $1900 for a ticket and the seats we were sitting in are going for about $5000!

My buddy was right. $300 was a bargain.
