LINDQUIST
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tom Lindquist on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, just two months shy of what would have been his 74th birthday. He was surrounded by his daughter, Jennifer, his sisters, Susan and Robin, and his brother, Mike.
Tom, or Tommy as he was sometimes known, was born on December 10th, 1950, in Rockglen, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Moose Jaw in a large, boisterous, blended family. He worked in the painting and contracting industry, eventually establishing Hub City Painting, which served Western Canada for many years, along with various other undertakings along the way. While he always called Moose Jaw home, Tom temporarily relocated to Kelowna, BC for several years, but ultimately returned home in 2022.
Tom married Heather West in 1971. They met in Shilo, Manitoba while Tom was working there on a painting contract. They had two children, Jennifer and Casey. After many years of marriage, Tom and Heather parted ways but remained friends. Tom was the life of the party and a devoted Shriner. He enjoyed time at the lake, on the golf course and, in more recent years, travelling the world. As a younger man, he obtained his pilot’s licence and happily flew with his friends. He had many good times in his backyard pool or basement rec room, celebrating milestones and special events with his large group of friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth; father, George; and sisters, Denise and Judy. Tom is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Crawford, and her husband, Mike; grandsons, Jacob and Isaac; son, Casey; and siblings: Lorne (Sylvia), Ron (Holly), Susan (Ritchie), Robin (James), Joey (Wayne), Mike, and Lori. Tom has several nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. Tom will be missed not only by his family but also by his lifelong friends: Jack Ireland, Harvey Moran, Bill Johnstone, Wally Meili, and many others. He will be remembered as a much-loved father, brother, uncle, and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honour Tom and share stories of his many adventures. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
