The Weyburn and Area Heritage Village closed for the season on August 23rd, however they opened their doors once more on September 7th when the City of Weyburn partnered with Canadian Paranormal Expeditions (CPE) to investigate what supernatural secrets hide in the historic buildings.

According to a release sent by the City of Weyburn, the event was intended to fundraise and spark new appreciation for the Heritage Village. They had recently connected with CPE, who tour the country seeking evidence for the supernatural.

Before the public could get a peek behind the Village’s paranormal curtain, the CPE team conducted their own investigation. Equipped with their ghost hunting equipment, they sleuthed around the village, ultimately discovering a lot of supernatural activity.

The team lead, Bradley Monks, reported hearing voices, items moving of their own accord, and crew members being grabbed by unseen hands. It was decided the public should have the opportunity to experience what the crew found that evening.

On the night of the event, cameras were installed around Heritage Village, leading to one station where a watchperson monitored the activity of both the living and nonliving. A Psychic Medium was also in attendance alongside the ghost hunters.

116 people participated in the event out of an allotted 120 spaces and three timeslots. Each began with a debrief with the distribution of ghost hunting equipment. Participants were then divided into groups of three to four people and began their exploration with a CPE leader. These leaders acted to initiate conversations and interactions with the spirits.

Several locations within the Village saw high rates of Supernatural activity. CPE was impressed by the intel and distinctiveness of this expedition and assures you are never really alone at Heritage Village.
