A church in Fort Richmond is on the move for a good reason.
Methodist Missionary Chapel Canada has outgrown its current location at 18 Gillingham Avenue.
Rev. Bamidele Oni says, "We were looking for somewhere you can worship and focus on God. Where distraction can be removed, and for this reason, God gave us an opportunity and led us to a venue that we are moving to on Sunday. This location is big enough and we believe it is a prophetic space where God is giving us a big space to tell us that there are more people staying in the city that I want you to reach."
Oni is excited about the move and the partnership that comes along with it. "We are moving to 50 Barnes Street. The building is owned by Grace Communion Church. They are so gracious to rent part of the space to us at a different time."
He shares that there is more to look forward to with Grace Communion than just sharing a building on Sundays. "I believe from the discussions we have had, there are quite a number of other things to be doing together down the line. Even by December, we'll be having a joint service together with Grace Communion Church on December 22. They host Harvest Manitoba and do a food bank every Tuesday. It's a great deal of a partnership in the Kingdom that we're working together."
With the move, the service time at Methodist Missionary Chapel Canada is also changing. "We currently meet at 10 a.m. but because of the move, we will be meeting at 2 p.m."
While the physical location and time of the service are changing, Oni states that the priority will stay the same. "This is a church to all nations, tribes, tongues, and people standing before the throne and before the lamb to worship. You can expect some deep teachings from the Word of God. We take time to do intense prayers and intercession."
