Local Sports Live will make the leap to Magic 97 tonight to broadcast the Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires as they "Pack the 'Plex".
Swift Current is looking to extend its winning streak to seven games after losing its season opener and will clash with the 6-1 Saskatoon Blazers.
"Obviously a great start (for us)," Legionnaires forward Connor Rieger told Magic 97's Colin Powers this morning. "This weekend is a really good test for us. Four points on the table, so it would be nice to come out of it with all four points against a good team."
Leading the way offensively for the Legionnaires is third-year and Eastend product Jace Egland with 19 points in seven games. He's excited to partner with the Southwest Facility Foundation this evening to raise funds for a new leisure facility in the southwest.
"It's probably going to be the biggest crowd we've had in the last three years," he said. "Hopefully the boys play good."
Shawn Mullin will have the call on Magic 97 beginning at 6:45 p.m. with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
