Crews arrived on the scene to assist with containment and ensure site security.

The derailment occurred in a farmer's field. Although RCMP noted earlier today that 19 cars were derailed, the county said 14 rail cars carrying household goods and several empty petroleum cars seem to have been impacted.

No leaks or hazards have been identified, and no road closures were required, allowing traffic to flow as usual.

The county noted that RCMP is overseeing security at the site while CN Rail is managing the response and cleanup.

Rocky View County Fire Service remains on the scene to support ongoing efforts, and FortisAlberta has been called to repair damaged power lines in the area.
